AT Overland has been cranking out innovative backcountry camper solutions for overlanders for decades now. Their classic Habitat topper provides cavernous space in a small package, and the Summit and Atlas expanded on this design and construction. In 2021, AT Overland debuted the ATERRA XL. This flat-bed compatible camper was a departure from their normal products, but their expertise in designing dependable overland campers was still evident. Then, in 2023, the ATERRA topper was added to their product lineup. The ATERRA topper provided a whole new level of comfort and security for overlanders looking for a spacious and durable truck topper option. Now, the next evolution of the ATERRA Slide-In Camper debuted at Overland Expo SoCal, and it brings the comfort and DIY-ready ATERRA to a slide-in camper platform.

You can have the ATERRA Slide-In your way.
The first thing that stands out about the AT Overland ATERRA Slide-In Camper is that it’s offered in two packages. The first is pre-kitted with a variety of features that make it exceptionally livable while still remaining lightweight. The standard package includes:

If you’re looking to start from scratch, the shell is available in a DIY option that’s practically a blank canvas in terms of power and storage. However, it still includes a King Size expendable cab over bed with a 3-inch thick mattress, four Tern double-pane windows, and a Tern Overland door.
Regardless of which option the end-user opts for, the ATERRA Slide-In Camper is built for extended backcountry adventures regardless of the season or destination, with 1-inch Honeycomb composite construction that offers R5 insulation. The interior and exterior are coated with UV-resistant polyurea. The unit measures 76-in. wide, 130-in. long, and 84-in. tall from the truck bed floor. The interior offers 81 inches of headroom in the main living area and 32 inches at the highest point above the bed. All of this comes in at 817 pounds, so it’s perfect for a wide range of full-size trucks.
The DIY option is available for $29,995, and the standard model starts at $31,995. When compared to popular pop-up style campers, these prices seem more than reasonable, considering the ATERRA Slide-In is more suited to extreme temperatures and will not leak. Plus, with the addition of four camper jacks and the proprietary camper-to-truck-bed alignment and retention system that securely bolts the camper in place, you can easily install and remove the ATERRA Slide-In while retaining the use of your truck bed for home or work chores. Since it’s a solid shell, this camper will work in areas that restrict any soft-sided shelter, and it’s easy to store when not in use. It’s great to see continued innovation from the team at AT Overland.
