The recently enacted tariffs have obviously been a hot topic of discussion, and the automotive world has already responded. The same day the new 25% tariff on foreign vehicles was released, Ford announced a new promotion dubbed “From America, For America.” This offer will provide 2024 and 2025 model-year vehicles at the same discounted price that Ford offers its employees.

Ford’s promo is available from April 3 through June 2, and offers “significant savings,” but no hard percentages were available. Ford is offering employee pricing on most, but not all, of its models, and of course, some are of more interest to the overlanding crowd than others. The “From America, For America” promotion includes Mustang, Escape, Bronco, Bronco Sport, F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Maverick, Ranger, Transit, E-Transit, new 2024 Super Duty pick-ups, Expeditions, and Explorers. Plus, the Corsair, Nautilus, and Aviator from Lincoln. On the other side of the coin, the Ford Raptor models, Mustang Darkhorse, Mustang GTD, and all Chassis Cab models are excluded.

Then, earlier this week, Stellantis announced their own employee discounts would be available to the general public as well. This discount debuted alongside a cash-back offer, and collectively, these offers are dubbed the “Freedom of Choice Pricing Program.” The cash incentive varies between $3,000 and $6,000, depending on the vehicle model. The employee pricing discount, much like Ford’s program, covers a wide range of models from the Jeep, Ram, and Dodge lineup, but not without some exclusions. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 and RAM RHO models are not covered under the discounts.

While the tariffs certainly bring plenty of uncertainty, this may be a good time for some customers to score deep discounts on a new vehicle. It will be interesting to see if other automakers roll out similar programs and how tempting they are to car buyers in the coming months as tariff negotiations continue.
